Digital Wallet FAQs

What is a Digital Wallet?
  • It is an application that will store payment card information on a mobile device, such as a cell phone, that can be used to make secure payments in stores.
What is a contactless payment?
  • Contactless payment allows you to pay for goods and services using your debit or credit card without the need to swipe, enter a personal identification number (PIN), and/or sign for a transaction when the card has been designed to use Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.
What is Near Field Communication (NFC) technology?
  • Near field communication is the technology that allows communication between two electronic devices and allows you to make purchases with your mobile wallet, as well as, NFC-enabled credit and debit cards.
Which digital wallets can you use with your AmeriChoice Debit or Credit Card?

Which AmeriChoice cards can I use with my digital wallet?

Can I continue to use my physical card after I add my AmeriChoice card to my digital wallet?
  • Your AmeriChoice card will continue to work in the same manner.
Where can I use my digital wallet?
  • You can use your digital wallet in-stores anywhere you see the below symbols.

How do I pay using my digital wallet?
  • When prompted to pay, hold your device within a ½ inch to an inch of the contactless (NFC) terminal.
  • When payment is successful, you will see “Done” and a check mark on the display of the device.

Additional Digital Wallet Specific Information

  • Apple Pay – Rest your finger on the Touch ID® sensor and wait for confirmation of your fingerprint verification. An image of your card will appear on the screen.
  • Apple Watch – double-click the side button and hold the display of your Apple Watch up to the contactless reader. A gentle tap and beep confirm that your payment information was sent.
  • Samsung Pay – Open the Samsung Pay app, select the card and verify the purchase using your fingerprint then hover over the payment terminal
  • Google Pay – Wake up and unlock your device, hold the back of your phone to the payment terminal. Your payment is successful when you see a blue check mark.
  • Garmin Pay – Use your four-digit code to access your wallet, select card. If payment terminal is asking for your card then Garmin Pay isn’t accepted at that terminal.
  • Fitbit Pay – Swipe down from the clock face and tap Payments or open the Fitbit Pay screen on your device. To pay with your default card, hold your wrist near the payment terminal. To pay with a different card, swipe or tap to find the card you want to use. You must wear your device on your wrist to make payments.
What should I do when a merchant asks for the last 4 digits of my card when using my AmeriChoice card in my digital wallet?
  • Apple Pay – Use the Apple Pay Device Account Number. This can be found by opening Wallet, tap your card and then tap the “I” icon.
  • Google Pay – Use the Google Pay Virtual Account Number. This can be found by opening the Google Pay app, go to “Card details” or “Transaction details.”
  • Fitbit Pay – Your default card appears on the screen with the 4-digit tracker PIN code
How will I know if a transaction was successful when paying with my digital wallet?
  • You will receive a confirmation on your phone if your transaction was successfully paid.
Will I need to sign a receipt after I pay in-store with my digital wallet?
  • You may need to sign a receipt depending on the merchant.
Can I see my transactions made in my digital wallet?
  • Yes
If my physical card is lost or stolen, what effect does it have on my card in my digital wallet?
  • After you report your card as lost/stolen, it will be unavailable in your digital wallet.
  • Once you receive your new card, activate it. This can then be loaded and ready to use.
What should I do if my card or device is lost or stolen?

If your card is lost or stolen

Digital Wallet Specific Information

Apple Pay

    • If device is lost, go to “Find my iPhone” app or visit icloud.com and select “Lost Mode.”
    • If device is stolen, visit icloud.com and select the “Erase All” option to delete your cards from Apple Pay.

Samsung Pay

    • If device is lost or stolen, go to Samsung’s “Find My Mobile” to help you find, lock and erase your phone.

Google Pay

    • If device is lost or stolen, sign into your Google account to lock and erase your device.

Garmin Pay

    • Open the Garmin Connect app, select the desired card and select to either Suspend or Remove Card. You can also select “Find My Device” if it’s lost.

Fitbit Pay

    • Go to the Wallet section of the Fitbit app or log into your dashboard to delete the cards added to Fitbit Pay
Am I liable for unauthorized purchases made with my card using my digital wallet?
  • The Cardholder is protected with $0 liability if the unauthorized charges are reported immediately. Issuer may require Cardholder to provide written statement regarding claims of unauthorized VISA transactions. If your monthly statement shows transfers or purchases that you did not make and you do not contact us within sixty (60) days after the statement was mailed to you, you may not receive the funds back that were lost, if we can prove that your contacting us would have prevented these losses.
  • * Visa’s Zero Liability Policy covers U.S.-issued cards only. Does not apply to ATM transactions, certain commercial card transactions, PIN transactions not processed by Visa or any other transactions not processed by Visa. You must notify your financial institution immediately of any unauthorized use. For specific restrictions, limitations and other details, please consult your issuer.
If I replace my device, what effect does it have on my digital wallet?
  • You will need to re-register your AmeriChoice card in your digital wallet.
If I erase my device, does that deactivate my physical card?
  • Erasing your device will delete your AmeriChoice Card from your digital wallet, but it does not affect your physical card. You will be able to use your physical card as you normally would.
